Mission

The VIAM PRESENT Project seeks to enhance the quality of life for impoverished children in fourth world communities by encouraging and facilitating relationships between Christian churches in the US, and the Pastors of indigenous churches.

Vision

The VIAM PRESENT Project seeks to affect a cultural paradigm shift within the American Church regarding the collection and shipment of gifts for impoverished children. Rather than sending physical “gifts” to “foreign mission fields”, local church congregants and congregations are encouraged to provide financial gifts to indigenous Pastors to enable the local sourcing and provision of materials essential for the successful rearing and education of impoverished children in their respective communities. By facilitating local sourcing (the purchase or production of materials from local sellers and producers) the PRESENT Project supports the livelihood of members of the indigenous community in addition to providing necessary resources for the children.

Process

  • The Christmas PRESENT Project representatives will publicize and recruit individuals and church congregations to participate in the project through prayer and financial provision.

  • Funds received from donors will be forwarded to vetted pastors that serve in communities with previously identified and verified impoverished populations.

  • In a timely manner, participating indigenous Pastors will source and purchase needed items and present them to the recipient children.

  • The presentation will be conducted in a festive manner consistent with local traditions. A message celebrating the birth of Jesus Christ and the Gospel will be shared in a way that can be understood by attendees.

  • All Project participating pastors will be expected to provide pictures of the presentation, celebration, and receipts for the items purchased.

  • A reasonable percentage of the funds forwarded may be used for transportation costs related to the purchased items and provisions.

  • Project supporting individuals and congregations will receive digital photos and a report from the indigenous Pastor (a companion English translation will also be provided if necessary.)

  • Project supporting individuals and congregations will continue to pray for the Pastor and community and give God the Glory for the blessing of His Church.
